  • WP1 Organisation and maintenance of an information structure for the management of networking

The leader of the package is IMI-BAS, more specifically the Department of Mathematical Linguistics. The main tasks included in WP1 are establishing the project's management structure, managing all administrative and financial tasks connected with the project's activities, communicating with the responsible unit of the EC, designing the project's internal networking facilities, organising coordination meetings, coordinating dissemination activities, communicating with the scholarly community at large, establishing and maintaining relations with education, business, potential stakeholders, and the general public.

WP2 Analysing the partners' requirements for a common infrastructure supporting research activities in digital lexicography

The leader of the package is IITP-RAS, one of the leading research institutions of Russia, an organisation with long and rich experience in the development of a wide spectrum of products of applied linguistics. The purpose of WP2 will be to define the requirements that a research network for Slavic digital lexicography has to match, so that its advantages can be exploited in full. To this end the current theories and technologies for developing lexical resources will be scrutinised, along with the partners' practices and ideas, the contribution of other specialists who are active in the field will be sought, and the findings will be made generally available.

WP3 Studying the state of the art in digital lexical resources and requirements for their integration

The leader of the package is ULIF-NASU. WP3 is aimed at studying the state of the art in digital lexical resources and requirements for their integration and formulating expert recommendations for the standardisation and integration of multilingual Slavic lexical resources and their opening to research, education, business and the public. The main tasks of this package are the examination of the state of the art in mono-, bi- and multilingual Slavic digital (local and on-line) lexical resources (corpora and dictionaries) developed by the partners.

WP4 Innovative solutions for lexical entry design in Slavic lexicography

The leader of the package is LSIL. The main purposes of WP4 are to study and outline innovative solutions for lexical entry design in Slavic lexicography and to present expert recommendations for choosing and using a metalanguage in Slavic multilingual dictionaries and for designing an encoding scheme, which will require studying how its design can best serve digital lexicography as well as other fields (machine translation, information retrieval, spell checking, grammar checking, parsing).

WP5 Innovative solutions for lexical entry content in Slavic lexicography

The leader of the package is ISS-PAS. ULIF-NASU is a co-leader. WP5 aims to present innovative solutions for lexical entry content in Slavic lexicography, including the description of linguistic forms with different meanings in the languages at hand, the role of a lexicon of concepts and other issues related to the representation of semantics in bi- and multilingual digital dictionaries. Further problems are presented by phraseology and etymology as separate domains of language description requiring specific linguistic research.

WP6 Creating a conceptual scheme for a research infrastructure supporting development of digital resources and research in Slavic lexicography

The leader of the package is JSI, more specifically the Department of Knowledge Technologies. IMI-BAS is a co-leader. WP6 aspires to contribute to conceptual design studies for new research infrastructures, esp. on a European scale. This enterprise will provide a new conceptual scheme for networking and cooperation of remote research groups from the partner countries, making it possible to accelerate the preparation and enhance the quality of both digital and traditional multilingual dictionaries. The task is related to innovative technological solutions, which can be attained by the consortium's joint effort and will contribute to conceptual design studies for new research infrastructures of European character and relevance.
